Social Care Rally: Labour Party Conference 2026

Keeping Social Care at the Top of the Agenda

What an unforgettable day for social care reform! At the Labour Party Conference 2026, huge numbersa of advocates, campaigners, politicians, and sector leaders gathered for our Social Care Rally at Nova Scotia - and the energy in the room was palpable.

From major policy announcements to moving personal stories, the event sent a resounding message across the conference and beyond: it is time to fix social care for good.

A Major Commitment to a National Care Service

Expertly co-hosted by MCs Gill Morris and Phil Hope, the rally brought together an outstanding lineup of parliamentary champions, industry experts, and lived-experience advocates.

The momentum was set early in the day following a landmark announcement by Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who confirmed that placing a National Care Service on the national agenda ahead of the next general election is a top priority.

Building on that commitment, Minister for Social Care Alison McGovern joined the rally to engage directly with advocates, reinforcing the vital role social care plays alongside the NHS and the broader economy.

We were also joined by key MPs championing our cause in Parliament, including Neil Duncan-Jordan MP, Daniel Francis MP, Chris Hinchcliffe MP, and Dr Simon Opher MP, all of whom voiced their dedicated support for sector-wide reform.

The rally featured invaluable insights from prominent advocates across health, social care, and community sectors, however the heart of the rally belonged to those who shared their personal stories. Speakers drawing on their own lived experience of the care system provided a powerful reminder of why structural reform is so urgently needed - putting a human face to policy discussions.

Thanks to the incredible turnout and passion from everyone in attendance, the message couldn't be ignored. The rally captured national attention and was featured on Channel 4 News, bringing the demand for social care reform to millions of viewers across the country.

This event was made possible through the collaboration and backing of key sector partners. A huge thank you to our co-sponsors and supporters for helping us organize such a impactful platform:
